Hello everyone. I just turned 20 and I want to open my. 2nd credit card, it being the Chase sapphire preferred “primarily to travel this summer”

    My current stats are

    – credit score 735

    – current highest credit limit is 6,000 BOFA CCR

    – Always paid on time and full

    -1.7 years of credit history

    – started a college checking with Chase for around 3 months, and currently have 3.6k

    – my expected income since I’m working full time this summer and winter break, along with allowance from my father is $28,000.

    – I have also been pre-approved in the chase app.

Should I go ahead and apply tomorrow, or just open a freedom unlimited for now?

      sounds great if:

-your first card takes care of everyday spend like groceries for you.

-the timing is right financially to take advantage of the sign up bonus by making some large purchases you would have made anyway like a new phone without carrying a balance.

Go for the preferred. It’s basically a top tier travel card for the price. You can’t really go wrong even if you don’t milk *EVERY* ounce of value from it.
