well everyone in a household needs to be on a policy even if you have your own. if your state/company allows it is possible to exclude as well but if you share an addresss they must be listed.
It is always going to be more cost effective to be on your parents policy as long as you live in the house and depending on ownership of vehicle (and company) they may allow your vehicle on there as well.
Insurance rates are likely to be very high for a 19 year old driver.
Do you live with your parents? If so, you probably have to be listed on their policy as a driver anyway. So it will be cheaper overall to just be listed there.
If you don’t live with them, you will usually be required to get your own policy. If you aren’t sure what you’re doing, contact a local independent insurance agent/broker. They can shop around for rates.
You didn’t fuck it up. Nothing wrong with getting quotes. Just don’t fudge any of the info… that will bite you in the ass. Call your parents insurance and ask for a quote. They will tell you how it would work on that plan. Call around but explain you live with your parents (if you do). Just be very transparent about your situation. Dont do this online. Call and speak to someone.
