I was supposed to be gardening. I had a roadmap… a plan.

I was already at 5/6 and 6/12, having been approved for a Elan Max Cash and Citi Double Cash in December, Citi Strata Premier in January, and Citi Custom Cash in February.

I knew there was an elevated 80k SUB on the AAdvantage Platinum Select, but I was being a good boy. But at 3 in the morning I saw the in-flight offer flyer I was given on my last flight. It was calling me. Tempting me. Beckoning me like the Ring of Power to Frodo. It was saying "This is your last chance. The offer expires in under 24 hours".

Knowing Citi was supposed to be extremely inquiry sensitive, I figured I didn't I have a chance, but the temptation was just too much. By all rights I should be declined. I pulled the trigger.

    Approved with a 9.2k CL.

This is the first card I've ever gotten as a pure chun. I every other card in my wallet has a purpose, but I see no use for the categories this card offers. It was purely for the miles. Before my new card spree, the thought of churning had never even remotely crossed my mind. Then I found this subreddit. Y'all have corrupted me (actually, I'm from the NYC area, so I should say "youse guys" instead of "y'all").

    Anyway, the key data points:

    Income: 130k, mortgage paid off

FICO-8: Right around 800 on all three agencies

    Hard Pulls – 5/6, 6/12, 7/24

    Cards Opened – 4/6, 4/12, 5/24

1 pull was for a business loan and another for a CLI on the Elan Max Cash (they initially gave me the infamous $500 CL)

I'm thinking Citi may be looser when the hard pulls are their own. Also, Citi pulled EQ all 4 times while Elan pulled TU.

Now… Back to redesigning my road map to get a second CCC and Priority Pass by my next winter vacation.

Yeah, similar situation. I got the Bilt Palladium card in January thinking that it would be my anchor for gardening. That 80k for $1k spend on the AA Platinum was just too easy, so I went ahead and got it. I’ll note that Bilt card never reported my card to the credit bureaus and was considered 1/6 at time of approval. Then a week later I got a notification that I was off of the waiting list for the Robinhood Gold card. And now here I sit at 10/24. I’ll be under 5/24 in 16 months, 7 days. Goodbye Chase. But on a positive note, my P2 drops to 4/24 in a few days…

damn nice pull especially with that velocity, citi really does seem to care less about their own inquiries

that 80k sub is solid even if you dont use the card after, and lol welcome to the dark side – once you start churning its hard to stop. your roadmap is already out the window but at least youre getting paid for it

    3. I got this purely for the sub too since it was too easy.

Weirdly enough was denied a CCC in November but was approved for this with an 11.7K CL instantly in January. Now it’s in the sock drawer till I cancel or PC it

I still see it as active.

I too just like you am so tempted to apply for it.

I just got amex gold just for the SUB. So dont know if adding 1k each p1 and p2 will work.
