I have a quick question, I just had a referral for the Amex platinum and it’s 125k but it’s only if you spend 12k within 6 months. I’ve seen 150k points and a lower spend amount (8k in 6 months). Trying to see if I should decline and try again later. I’m ok with the 125k welcome offer but the 12k is a little much

$8k in 6 months isn’t offered anymore, it was updated about a month or two ago to $12k in 6 months
There’s no way to know. One day it was 175k for $8,000, the next it was 60k for $12,000. Tomorrow it might be 200,000 points for $6,000 spending or 50,000 points for $20,000 spend. Nobody can predict this.
$12K/6 months is the new base spending level for the Plat direct from AMEX.
The Morgan Stanley and Charles Schwab Plats still have welcome offers of 80,000 MR for $8K of spend.
