It's really strange to me that at a time like this, when people are getting laid off left and right, hours are cut, people are furloughed (in my state it's affecting everything from mental health to schools), etc., that this admin. is now all of a sudden deciding to make everyone's life even worse.
I think this is going to push people into bankruptcy, or losing their homes, perhaps not even being able to pay rent anymore. It's definitely going to cause more mayhem, and that doesn't make sense. There must be a reason why this is happening, and the only thing I can fathom is that it's being done purposefully.
Also, has anyone else had all of their loans transferred to Nelnet (or else told they will be)?

sorry that people are going thru this, but one lesson i was taught at a young age was, when you’re flourishing take that time to bring your debt down because debt will always linger and hurt more when the flourishing takes a break. Many people do the opposite and see the flourish as a forever and but debt to the back seat.
They’re trying to ruin our economy to build personal wealth. We’re being robbed blind so their billionaire buddies can hoard even more wealth.
Republicans don’t give two shits about you or I or anyone else with student loans. They want to limit upward mobility and are doing it now through a debtor class. The sooner you realize they are not trying to help you the sooner their actions will start to make sense
Yea its terrible.
The brutal truth is that they aren’t making everyone’s life’s worse.
They’re making non-rich college-educated people’s lives worse, A block that they don’t want to have political power.
They’re using federal student loans as a little bit of An asset to try to offset all of the tax cuts they’re doing as well.
But yea, My student loan bill has increased while Im also paying more for gas And electricity.
When you start looking at the people in charge as greedy pieces of shit that get off on cruelty while still representing the obscenely wealthy above all else everything they do will make more sense.
Donald Trump has never made anyone’s life better besides his own. Fight Me.
I’ll try not to get as political as possible, but ultimately this is a political question. The current administration’s agenda isn’t to make people’s lives better, it’s to make people *think* that that’s what they’re doing. Their ultimate goal is to help the rich. Why? Because they’re rich, and their friends are rich, and when more and more people have opportunities to better their lives and potentially become more well off, that’s threatening to them. The administration’s goal is therefore to strategically prevent people from become more wealthy in a few ways: 1) actively slashing programs and legislation that are intended to support people financially, 2) prioritizing policies which benefit the rich instead of trying to improve the cost of living for “regular” people, and 3) discouraging people from pursuing higher education, which leads to more awareness and higher paying jobs. People who are poor and less educated are easier to manipulate. That’s in no way those people’s fault, as they’re systematically prevented from pursuing more wealth or education. But it’s unfortunately how governmental leaders like our current administration gain power and influence. These leaders know this and use it to their advantage.
Although the timing may feel sudden, Republicans have been on a long-term project to dismantle the SAVE program. The lawsuit has been going on for years.
A formal conspiracy does not need to occur when wealthy interests align.
It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.
Tell me you didn’t pay attention to project 2025 without telling me you didn’t pay attention to project 2025…
