As an outsider, I can't understand the self harming policies of EU govts by not taking russian oil and gas and acting like vassals of the U.S. German economy has declined with some of their best industries and companies suffering and across the water U.K. govts almost torturing their citizens with their anti Russian behavior. Having good relations with Russia would have made both prosperous.
Why r EU countries hurting their own people?

During periods if imperial decline the empire cannibalised the vassals and they are in shock but completely denuded of any independent thoughts or interests.
