    Breaking New : Trump says Iran’s president asked for ceasefire, but U.S. wants Hormuz Strait open first

    President Donald Trump on Wednesday said Iran’s president has asked the U.S. for a ceasefire.

    But the U.S. will “consider” the offer only once the Strait of Hormuz is “open, free, and clear,” Trump said on Truth Social.

    “Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion or, as they say, back to the Stone Ages!!!” he wrote.

    The announcement came hours before Trump was set to deliver an “important update on Iran” in an address to the nation, according to the White House.

    The address is set for 9 p.m. ET

      The readout from the call the Iranian president and council of Europe was less of a “we’d like to end this pwetty pwease” and more of a “we didn’t start this, but we do have the resolve to do what’s necessary to END IT *dramatic glare*

      He thinks he has the leverage to demand opening the strait, and everyone but him can see he does not. Even if they did ask for a ceasefire, it’s escalatory and counterproductive to tweet this out instead of negotiating behind closed doors. He only did it to show the world he’s WINNING. He truly is just very, very stupid.

      Didn’t he just say yesterday that the Strait wasn’t for us and we’re leaving in 2 weeks ? Now we are staying till Strait is open? He just said that wasn’t our problem
