Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said this week that AI agents may outnumber human staff in hedge funds by 2028. She pointed out that these systems can process large amounts of market data faster than people, execute trades automatically, and run 24/7, which helps cut costs and improve efficiency. She also mentioned worries about oversight and regulation as more decisions shift to automation.

Crypto markets already run nonstop with plenty of algorithmic trading, so this kind of change could show up here sooner than in traditional finance. At the same time, it leaves open questions about accountability when algorithms make the calls and whether rules can keep up.

What do you think… is 2028 too soon for that level of shift, or does it line up with what you’re seeing in trading bots already?
