Is all it is is that eventually the cards will switch from MasterCard to Discover? SavorOne is my main card and dining is probably what I spend the most on and I know that Discover isn’t accepted at every restaurant. Just don’t want to get screwed and end up having to apply for another card if I don’t have to.

    1. No one outside of CapOne knows what the long term plan is, but it seems like existing cards are remaining on Mastercard for now at least.

Discover has pretty universal acceptance in the US in my experience, so even if it does switch you’re probably fine unless you’re traveling abroad.

So far the Venture, VentureOne, Savor, SavorOne, Quicksilver, and QuicksilverOne all have a chance of being issued as a Discover network card to new applicants. Co-branded cards are unaffected, business cards are unaffected, and the Platinum and Venture X are unaffected. And this currently is only affecting newly issued cards, not preexisting ones.

My guess as to what’ll happen next is that the Platinum will likely follow suit, and it may soon become impossible to acquire new Mastercard versions of these seven cards without
product changing. Eventually even those currently on Mastercard versions will be transitioned over to Discover. But I doubt the Venture X or co-branded cards will be affected, and I’m unsure about the business cards.
