Well when something starts making serious money for institutions and governments, suddenly everyone wants to be on the right side of history. Plus a lot of these “important people” probably have bags they’ve been sitting on for years and now it’s socially acceptable to pump them publicly

For the same reason the first adopters of it were interested. Literally nothing about Bitcoin has changed, it’s people’s perception of it that is changing for the better.
