I know there has been occasional rumors for a long time, but I recently went into a Chase branch to try and get a CLI on my Prime Chase Visa.
A couple years ago they cut the limit in half due to inactivity or something, so I wanted to get it restored to the original limit since I've started using it again.
Anyways, the banker told me after calling the credit department that they wouldn't issue a CLI on my card due to them "possibly phasing it out".
The way it was said didn't sound 100% sure, but sounded like it was likely a reason why.
Honestly surprised me since they were going ham with the opening offers during the holidays recently as well as a partial card rebrand IIRC.
Just curious if anyone had any other info on that. I love the Amazon card but sucks that the limit is stuck so damn low.
Prime Chase Visa being phased out?

That’s a bunch of BS. Even if the card is being phased out which is false that wouldn’t and shouldn’t prevent your ability from getting a CLI. And why are u even going to a branch to request a CLI when you can do it right from the mobile app and also speak directly to a credit analyst for reconsideration if u got denied. Branch employees are pretty powerless and can’t influence credit decisions.
I just got approved for it. And got a very high credit limit. And got their Amazon gift card SUB.
Amazon is shifting their business cards from Amex to US Bank. I haven’t heard anything about their consumer cards with Chase.
