I’m having a yard sale tomorrow, and also have a big bag of donation clothes that I’ve been thinking about putting out.

I, personally, tend to avoid clothes at yard sales. I don’t know why. I have nothing against thrift stores! But I never look at clothing at a yard sale.

Before I put the effort into displaying it, I’m wondering if it’s worth it. Do you browse clothing at a yard sale?

I do yes if it looks like it is my style or something I would have trouble finding at a thrift store.

    2. I feel like outerwear, jackets, winter boots etc. do quite well. But regular everyday clothing not so much.

Im the same way but its usually because its an overwhelming amount of unorganized clothing with someone watching on. They have memories in those shirts and we see it. The thrift store ones were set free

IME regular every day average clothing not so much. If you advertise it as cheap maybe it’ll go better? But my MIL had a yard sale last summer and mentioned the plus size clothing shed have and the brands, and had a handful of people come specifically for that clothing and buy a ton. She priced it ridiculously low, but hey it moved!

If it’s something really unique but something like jeans or sneakers, I’m all set.

You’d probably have much better luck posting on sites like Poshmark, Mercari, or even eBay to sell clothing items.

    7. Yes. We specifically went to yard sales for 0-3 years clothing. Kids grow faster than they can wear them out. We also went one suburb over to the “rich” area. Got some very good deals.

I do if it doesn’t look scroungy. if there’s too much clothing I sometimes don’t look through big piles.

I did yard sales for decades. It wasn’t until my clothing sign stated a deal like “5 for $3” that people actually bought clothes. I had them for $1 each for years and people rarely bought. If your clothes are actually worth something, do eBay. If they’re like old Navy and Walmart, a yard sale is fine.

I looked at clothes at yard sales but I’ve never seen any that I wanted to buy.

    12. It all depends on how its displayed and the sizes. Big dumps of clothes I have to sift through not knowing the size, too much work. Organized by size makes me at least pause to look.
