I've been doing some occasional research over the past year I've had my Marriott Bold card. When I first applied, I was under the impression that any Chase Marriott card, held for a year, would allow me to product change to a RC card. A while ago I saw some posts that people who had Bold cards were not able to change directly to a RC card, that they were having to first upgrade to a Boundless (for example), then to RC.

So at 53 weeks, I called Chase Customer Service, fully prepared to go this route, but decided to first

just try for a product change to the RC card and was thrilled when the CS rep authorized it with no hesitation and went straight into the disclosures. Maybe it was luck of the draw as far as the rep or maybe Chase changed their policy, but happy to get the card at last.

I still have about half a year left on my CSR with the old, cheaper AF. Originally I was going to get the RC and then close my CSR account, but am actually finding quite a bit of value with the dining and travel credits. Just wanted to share the DP.

    1. Some choose the boundless to stack the 35k FNC and the 85k FNc by timing the upgrade just right, but if you have no use for the 35k, don’t want to burn the Boundless AF, and have a $10k CL this is good stuff.

    2. I imagine most people PC from the Boundless and there’s plenty of DPs there. So this is useful, thanks!
