Bilt is running a promo for cardholders to get 5x on gas this week up $200 and 1k points. So today I was in a Racetrac gas station and noticed they sold gift cards.
So I grabbed a couple of Amazon cards and attempted to buy $100 along with a couple other things. Even if it didn’t give me the bonus the Amazon cards are as good as cash pretty much.
However the card rejected the payment for the gift cards and just charged for the other items. Trying not to cause a scene and move along for the people behind I grabbed another card (CSP) and tried to buy the gift cards though same issue.
I‘ve never tried to buy a gift card at a gas station before. Has anyone ever experienced this? I kind of understand why the Bilt card blocked it, but there was no incentive on the chase card.
