Despite Trump's claim that he prefers diplomacy, I think it's worth taking a step back and analyzing how the US got itself into this mess.

During diplomatic efforts, Trump bombed Iran, twice. The second round of talks, Iran was offering to blend down it's uranium, as well as other concessions. Trump still bombed them.

Ask yourself, what has changed? If Trump didn't prefer diplomacy then, why would he have suddenly done a 180 and prefers diplomacy now?

And don't tell me it's because the US is losing the war. Trump could choose at any time to unilaterally disengage. He hasn't.

I think the obvious answer is that Trump never wanted diplomacy, because diplomacy was never going to get Trump what he wanted: US control over Iran's oil.

If Trump wants to enter into a ceasefire with Iran (as he claims), why did he bomb them TWICE in the first place (and especially the second time when they were making major concessions)?

Israel doesn’t want diplomacy. They bombed the diplomatic efforts literally and is assassinating Iranian leadership to prevent any diplomacy. Israel wants all out war.

    3. Here is what happened.

While the initial negotiation was dragging on, Stephen Miller relayed message from the Israelis that there is intelligent report where ‘precision’ bombing can wipe out the current Iranian leadership. Then it will be Venezuela 2.

All competent and rational advisors around him said, no!

But you got Hegseth and Miller/Epstein,

Trump is getting messaging from Israel, Saudi Arabia and other “allies” in the Middle East that want to see the Iran regime gone. Their plan just isn’t going well due to Iran’s control of the strait and years of preparation stock piling and hiding weapons. Hegseth and the people he surrounds himself with (he’s purged a lot of military leaders) aren’t giving the POTUS honest truths about what it takes to achieve what Trump and his handlers are asking for.

    5. He likes diplomacy but his definition is i tell them what i want and they agree. I don’t think Trump is strategic in any way. He wasn’t getting everything he wanted through diplomacy. He rolled the dice and thought bombing might get the outcome he wanted quicker and more easily.

Now he’s realized he is worse off than before.

During negotiation it was determined Iran wasn’t serious and likely hiding and lying about uranium anyway so they had to be destroyed. Decapitated leadership will eventually slowly bleed out the regime.

Currently Iran is running on autopilot. Real power struggle and collapse is likely after the war not during.
