Hello there I'm on an IBR plan and my next recertification date is Aug 1st 2026. I got an email from Student Aid. Saying the automatic did not work and I have no records on the IRS. I remember when I switched from the save plan to IBR last August 2025, Aidvantage told me to fill out the application on FAFSA for the switch and come back to the Aidvantage account upload a normal sheet of paper stating my name and write I have no income, and sign it. I remember the client from Aidvantage said just do the same thing as last time. Thank you for the help, I think they sent the email 3 months in advance? I'm confused.
Do you need to recertify early?
