I'm a reservist on 90 days of Active Duty.
When does Amex charge the Annual Fee for the Platinum? Is there any way I can cancel the card after my ADOS, before the year is up, and essentially get an annual fee free year of Amex Plat?
Currently already have a Gold. I assume doing this locks me out of any other Plat sign up bonuses if I decide to reapply in the future.

Getting a SUB and cancelling within a year risks getting the points clawed back and a blacklist. You can cancel next year when you get charged an AF. You have 30 days to pay the fee, downgrade, or cancel the card. They may even offer you a retention offer which can make up the value of the fee at times.
