Hi everyone,

I’m trying to find a good travel credit card as a young traveler with a relatively new credit profile.

I have an upcoming trip to Northern Europe with my wife, and I’ve budgeted about $3,500 for it. I also travel frequently for both work and personal reasons, spending around $9,000 per year.

I’m looking for a travel card that fits my profile and offers solid value (rewards, perks, etc.), especially since I can take advantage of military benefits like waived annual fees on some cards. Also my current credit limits are too low for part of my expenses.

So far, I’ve been denied for:

    • Amex Platinum, Gold, and Delta cards
    • Capital One Venture X
    • Chase Sapphire Reserve

    Current profile:

    • Capital One Quicksilver Secured – $200 limit (opened 4 months ago)
    • Navy Federal More Rewards – $1,500 limit (opened 7 months ago)
    • FICO score: 735
    • Oldest account age: 1 year
    • Net Income: $65K (military)
    • Never had debt, and no missed payments
    • Age: 23

I’m looking for recommendations on travel cards that are realistic for my profile and still provide good rewards and benefits.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Best travel card for a young person?

      Thank you for your service.

With that thin of a profile i am wondering if if something like the Wells Fargo Autograph might be good.

For points, you’d need to redeem specific flights.

If you’d prefer a “general” rewards card, I’d suggest cash back instead.

I think the Navy Federal Flagship could be a good one for you.

While I understand you get waived annual fees on American Express, the points aren’t necessarily very good from my experience.

Try fidelity’s card. Sounds like with your thin profile you’ll have trouble getting the mid level and up travel cards
