I have a cashback everyday credit card. I just want a high credit limit to see how high I can get it. I am responsible with my money and treat my credit card like my debit card. I got my Amex (my first credit card ever) in September 2025, my credit limit was 3.5k, then in December increased to 5k and in March to 8k. I am 21 and my salary is 28k. How high can I get my limit and what can I do to achieve this?

I just applied for a new credit card with CIBC, minimum income levels required and I exceed that minimum by double.
6 figure salary
nearly 850 credit score
perfect credit history
low utilization ratio, etc.,
100k savings
Investments
RRSP
Etc.,
every single thing that demonstrates historically and presently that I am extremely responsible with my finances and with credit.
they gave me a 5k credit limit.

i dont know if the UK has specific rules but the general process is really simple:
earn more (and report a higher salary).
then spend more (responsibly). You should use the full or almost full amount of your credit every single month, and never carry interest. that’s it. you can manually ask down the line but frankly 8K on a 28K salary is already generous.
