I just got an email from PayPal asking to pick my rewards category again, and when I opened the app I was able to select groceries! I heard they were doing away with the rewards, and when April 1st came this month and I wasn't able to select a category I pulled all my cash out instantly and stopped using the card…
Please tell me this email means they changed their mind on nerfing it!? Did anyone else get this email and her their rewards back? 5% cash back on groceries was *so nice* especially for Walmart and wholesale clubs (Costco/Sam's)… Otherwise I read a different thread on here but didn't settle on a good replacement for my grocery card.
If this is a cruel delayed April Fools joke from PayPal I probably will just use the fidelity rewards Visa because even though it's 2% cash back at least I know it works on everything, and I didn't really feel like applying for another card.
Did PayPal Debit Rewards get un-nerfed? Otherwise still on the hunt for the best grocery credit card…

The nerf is not that you can’t get rewards from the card, it’s that you will not be able to redeem points as cashback. It was announced in mid March and wont take place until August. So no it is not an April fools joke, the card just works the same until August 1st.
