I am 20 with a 737 credit score and make about 45k per year. I am having trouble deciding whether or not to apply for the CSP or finding another card that would work with my situation. I have both the Chase Freedom Unlimited and the Chase Freedom Flex which is part of the reason why I am considering the CSP. I was approved for the Freedom Flex about a year ago which was the last card that I have applied for. Part of the reason why I am considering going another route is because of the recent devaluations with Chase and their partners. I enjoy traveling but it seems like the Chase ecosystem is pointed more towards luxury stays which I do not care for.

I also have plans of moving out into an apartment by the end of the year just to try it out so would a bilt card be a good option?

I have considered the Citi Custom Cash, one of the Citi Strata cards (I do not remember which one), and the Amex gold card (most of my spending is on dining and groceries; don’t know if I would be able to hit the SUB). Additionally, I have looked at getting into the Capitol One ecosystem because I have heard that they tend to approve better when you have less cards on your credit report. Let me know any other recommendations for me.

Looking into getting my 4th credit card. Debating on getting the CSP or something else

Personally would go Chase given what you have. Their points transfer to Hyatt and United which are great value for reasonable hotels and domestic flights.

Do you live near a United hub? If looking for travel I would definitely consider what hub if any you live near as transfering points will almost always get you best value. Personally I live near a United hub, so Chase makes the most sense for me. If you want to do more international travel then maybe capital one/amex would be better.

      Amex for delta
      Citi for American
      Chase for United/hyatt

But for what you have in the CFU and the CFF I’d have a hard time finding a better card than the $95 annual fee CSP

**other thing with Chase, if a rainy day ever comes, you can redeem the points for 1cpp for a statement credit. Amex, Citi and Cap1 are all 0.5-0.6 cpp statement credit redemptions. 1cpp is one of the best rainy day/guaranteed value redemptions for sure

I would be hesitant to add a card with an annual fee at this point. But if you want something for travel, Capital One Venture and CSP are the best options from what I saw on WalletHub. Good luck!

CSP is a good option. I recently watched a video by RD about the csp and what to consider before getting it. Here [this video](https://youtu.be/8WThGThzeCA?si=Q3QSYopOQJLFZXz0) has a pretty good breakdown. Alternatively you can go for the preferred and see if you like it. You can always cancel if need be. I personally think the Citi strata premier does a better job of what chases wanted the preferred to do but then you have to get into the Citi ecosystem.
