After having all CO/Collections/Lates from 7 years ago fall off my TU (taking it from a 658 to 772 FICO) and all but 2 fall off my EX (634 to 674), I decided to go on an app spree. Since I was aware US Bank is Inquiry sensitive, I applied for them first thinking they'd pull my TU (100 points higher than EX), but they pulled EX. Did a pre-qual and showed I was approved. The next morning, I got an email to continue my app for the Smartly Visa I was pre-approved for, so I did. Went straight to the 7-10 day message. Realizing I was really wanting the Cash+ originally and getting the email that I was pre-approved for that/continue application a few hours later, I did a 2nd app for it, same thing. A few days later, I got the approval email from US Bank for the Smartly. Excited to see my new limit, I logged in and saw it was $1,000. They pulled my EX which was a 681 by their metric. (Got a text days later about the Cash+ app. Confirmed it was me. Had to call, fax my DL and Recent Stubs, but got a letter that it wasn't approved due to them working on the other app).

After seeing DPs on here about people being able to recon the SL, I reached out, but they account wasn't fully set up yet. Called back a couple days later and spoke to a rep. I mentioned I was in the middle of a shower remodel and wanted to take advantage of the 0% so I could pay it off over a couple months vs stressing about huge balances since I always PIF on my cards. I've had a couple months $6-7k balances on my NFCU Flagship in addition to the rest of my cards that I've been stressing about being able to PIF, but ended up pulling from emergency savings to do so and keep not paying interest/benefitting from the Cash Back. I've learned from past mistakes and always PIF.

I had a prior relationship with US Bank in the form of an Auto Lease that was paid off in 2022/23, so I figured it might count for something and also relayed that to the rep hoping that would help my case. He said I'd need to unfreeze TU and they'd do a soft pull to relay to underwriting then I'd hear something within 3 business days. I said "Great, my TU is much stronger." I checked my account multiple times today (the 3rd business day) to only see the $1000 limit still. It wasn't until I checked it at 6:30 that I saw it now showed $10,000 for the limit!

I'm glad that I came across the DPs for SL Recon as it's not something I would have thought to do before, but I'm sure glad I did! As far as inquiry/new account sensitivity, I was at 0/9 on 3/12 EX, but 3/6 and 3/12 for TU. For new accounts, i was 1/3, 3/6, 5/12, and 6/24. Average age of accounts 6.5 Years. Mortgage, Student Loans, and 15 Revolving Accounts ($300-20,000 Limits). A couple revolving a bit over 30%, but average 16% util across the board. DTI – 17%. $200k Income (Household). Hopefully this helps with DPs..

TLDR; US Bank Smartly 7-10 day message -> Approved $1k -> SL Recon -> $10k
