Hey everyone,
I applied for a US Bank Smartly credit card through their website and got instantly approved for a $5,000 limit (after like 2 minutes of processing).
Right after that, they asked if I wanted to open checking & savings – I said yes, created my account, and logged in.
I can fully access my checking and savings with no issues, but under the credit card section I only see the last 4 digits of what looks like a credit account, and this message:
“Your account information is currently unavailable. This is a problem on our end. Please try again later.”
I called support immediately they told me since I opened it outside business hours, everything should show up the next day.
Next day still nothing.
Called again they said their system was down and to call back later.
Called again agent confirmed they can also see the last 4 digits of the credit account but no actual details.
They transferred me to the credit card department, and those guys said they can’t find anything without a card number or application number (which I was never given). I only have the approval screen and email saying I was approved and the card will arrive in 7 days.
They tried searching by SSN and phone nothing came up.
Meanwhile, regular support does see some kind of credit account (the one showing “unavailable” in my app).
The call ended with the agent basically hanging up.
I called again and was told to contact “underwriting” and given a number, but it seems like it’s for mortgage underwriting, which makes no sense.
At this point it feels like a complete mess.
Has anyone experienced something like this with US Bank?
Is this just a delayed system issue, or is something actually wrong with my application?
Also, they already did a hard pull on my credit, so I’m kinda stuck with that regardless.
US Bank approved me for a credit card but nobody can find my credit card account – what is going on?
