Forgive me if this has been discussed, but in my mind this seemed like it would be a decent discussion with some nuance. I'd like to start by asking about a few specific, somewhat well known benefits/dynamics among the credit card enthusiast community, but please feel free to mention your own in the comments that you value or prioritize.

How much do you value Visa over other card types for the ability to use it at Costco?

How much do you value the ethics approach (for lack of a better term) of American Express, in that their business model is generally centered around funding their benefits through annual fees, higher merchant fees, and high spend users that rack up more revenue from those merchant fees, as opposed to other card issuers that generally get a greater portion of their revenue from interest payments and other means that largely come from those struggling financially?

How much do you value banks that offer referral bonuses over banks that don't? (I.e. Chase, Capital One, Amex over Citi, US Bank, BoA)

How much do you value benefits that come from the specific card type? (I.e. Visa Infinite/Signature or MasterCard World Legend/Elite)

As it pertains to optimizing, do you prefer to optimize your time and mental energy with a simple card setup like the Capital One Duo (Venture/Venture X and Savor or even just one of the Venture cards by itself for the 2x on everything), Chase Trifecta, Citi Trifecta, or are you comfortable/do you enjoy getting as many cards as it takes (so long as it makes sense financially) to earn as many points as possible in every category of spend (Citi Strata Elite/Premier, DoubleCash, and as many Custom Cash cards as you can get your hands on, or getting several cards from multiple issuers that you can pool points together to transfer to your preferred shared transfer partner?)

If you are a frequent flyer or hotel frequenter, for your catch all (non-categorized spend), do you prefer a card that earns as many points as possible like the Amex Blue Business Plus (2x on everything) or would you rather use a hotel/airline co-branded card that likely earns fewer points/miles, but has incentives for spending milestones?

If you made it this far, thanks for taking the time to read. I look forward to reading your answers as well as other things that you value that aren't always the most obvious or widely marketed benefits to your favorite cards.

What benefits/dynamics do you value that don't get marketed heaily?

I like cards that have merchant offers I can use as part of my normal or near-normal spend. I particularly like when a merchant (usually restaurant) I go to regularly offers deals on multiple cards I have.

    2. I value the simplicity of a three card stack for 5% cash back on nearly all my everyday spend (Sam’s club, Kroger Mastercard, PayPal debit) plus a Visa Infinite for global entry & travel especially international primary insurance for rental cars (Ritz). I don’t put any value on Visa since I use PayPal Mastercard (debit) at Costco.
