My 2022 Hyundai Elantra (about 31,500 miles) was involved in an accident recently. Front end got smashed (I have it on dashcam) and the other driver was at fault. I haven’t opened the hood yet because I’m worried I won’t be able to get it closed again, so I don’t know if there’s internal damage.
I’m going through the other driver’s insurance. I just got the estimate today, which the appraiser did based on the photos I sent right after the accident. I noticed every single part listed is aftermarket.
My car was built in Korea (VIN starts with KMH) and has all OEM Hyundai parts. I really want the car restored to pre-loss condition with the parts it originally came with—not aftermarket stuff.
Am I being unreasonable wanting OEM for a 2022 with low miles?
I’m planning to take it to a body shop I trust. Would they be able to push back on the estimate and fight for OEM parts on my behalf?
Looking for thoughts, experiences, or advice from people who’ve dealt with this.

Did you purchase OEM coverage? No? then yes you are being unreasonable.
