Been digging into past crypto cycles… something doesn’t add up

I’ve been going pretty deep into crypto market cycles lately, way more than I probably should have, and I’ve started noticing a few patterns that don’t really line up with what most people are saying right now. Everyone seems convinced the next run will play out a certain way, but when you actually go back and compare previous cycles properly, there are some weird inconsistencies that keep showing up.

What stood out to me the most is how early certain coins start moving before the wider market even realises what’s happening. It’s not always the obvious ones either. There’s also a timing element that feels slightly “off” compared to the usual expectations people throw around. Almost like the narrative always lags behind what’s actually happening under the surface.

I started writing everything down just to organise my thoughts, comparing different cycles, looking at how sentiment shifts, when money rotates, and which projects actually gain traction versus which ones just get hyped and fade out. The more I looked into it, the more it felt like there’s a repeatable structure there, but it’s not as simple as people make it out to be on YouTube or Twitter.

Another thing I noticed is that a lot of advice floating around seems to come from people who only really experienced one cycle, maybe two at most, and they assume it will just repeat the same way again. But when you zoom out a bit more, it’s not that clean. There are similarities, sure, but also enough differences that blindly following the same expectations could actually make you miss the early opportunities.

I’m not claiming I’ve figured everything out or anything like that, but I do feel like I’ve got a clearer picture than I did before I started digging into it properly. At the very least, it’s made me question a lot of the “common knowledge” that gets repeated over and over.

Curious if anyone else here has gone down a similar rabbit hole and noticed anything like this, or if I’m just overthinking it. Would be interesting to compare notes with someone who’s looked at this properly instead of just following the usual narratives.
