Who else re uses paper towel?

I dislike using cloth towels, so I only use paper towels, but I keep them for another use.

After you wash your hands, it should be pretty clean, right? I wouldn't reuse it to dry my hands again, but I save it for cleaning up skills on the floor, or pick up the cat puke, which I don't think a brand new paper is needed for.

If I start having too many, I'll take some to wipe down my fish tank, or the bathroom mirrors, neither of which requires a brand new paper towel.

It's still probably not as cheap as using a cloth towel, but it's my compromise. What do you think?

Reusing paper towel is my compromise

I buy blue roll on temu for £4 and claim £18 cash back. My paper towels make me money 👌

(This is a UK cash back scheme )

The only thing I buy paper towel for is pet messes or anything gross. So no I don’t reuse them.

They make “reusable paper towels” that would probably be a good compromise for someone like you

Same. I only use about 1 roll every month or so. If I use a pice that can dry and be reused I just hang it up and use it again. I keep the roll in my linen closet in the hall. If I kept it in the kitchen I’d likely use it more often out of convenience. I just prefer cloth for most things.

I bought some Swedish cloths to try as a way to stop using 6 plus rolls of paper towel a week. We can’t do a ton of extra laundry because we only have a community laundry room and my husband is the only one able to go do it (I can’t lift it down our stairs and across the road). I save socks for rags/old clothes but I don’t wash them. They go in the garbage. Sometimes you ‘can’t just’ some things you want to..

    6. Check out Swedish dishcloths. They’re reusable, washable paper towels. They’re kinda like a very thin sponge.

If it’s just used for drying my hands, I’ll let it hang dry and use it again.

Yep, that’s what I do. I don’t like reusable things for messes. I go through 1 roll of Bounty every 1-2 months. For drying my hands, I actually sometimes end up leaving it to dry so I can use it again. Other times, I keep it for cleaning. I also have reusable kitchen towels for drying my hands, which I use more frequently.

If you were going to use those paper towels anyways, I think this is a great idea.

Why don’t you like using towels to dry your hands? Is it a texture thing? Laundry? Maybe there is an workable solution

My dad grew up in the post-depression era, so I was very used to seeing paper towels trying out on the countertop if we used them to try our hands after washing up. So yeah, I pretty much do what you do, or I just use the now-damp paper towel to quickly wipe down countertops, the stovetop, or anything else that might need a light dusting.

The upside to doing that is my kitchen is pretty much always spotless with minimal effort!

I would never waste a paper towel on drying my hands if I have a towel handy.

I use paper towels for cleaning messes and that’s it.

    12. I understand not using a towel, but this is just a towel that you still throw away and waste money on. Especially since you dry your hands with paper towel.

I bought a pack of PT from Costco and it lasted more than a year because I have a few stolen cleaning towels from the kitchens I’ve worked at. I use them for the kitchen only and use paper towels for anything more gross than that. I also have a clean dish towel I use for drying my hands. Do a towel load every other week or so, with vinegar on the fabric softener spot and then boom, fresh clean towels.

    13. I’ve accidentally laundered a few Viva paper towels in my pockets — and they come out in tact and ready to be reused.

Basically most sheets I use, get a second life. Likely pet dishes, but at the very least they are draped over the compost bucket to dry for lesser spills.
