I spent about 20$ on ingredients to make my own flavored coffee creamer. I usually have 3-4 cups of coffee a day and have been spending about 25-30$ a month on premade creamer.
I bought vanilla extract, caramel sauce, almond extract, half and half and condensed sweet milk.
I believe over the next few months I can cut 10$ a month on overall creamer expenditures and still enjoy my coffee. Just another minor thing that is helping me save money overall on food budget.
I also want to try drinking less coffee but I am still working on that
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cup half and half
- 1 teaspoon espresso powder
- 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- ⅓ cup caramel sauce
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions:
Add all of the ingredients to a large measuring cup and whisk until combined. Store in a mason in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.

How have you been spending $25-$30 per month on creamer? That sounds like lot. What quantity of creamer do you consume per day?
And how many batches of this recipe does the $20 get you?
That is going to make very sweet coffee. Almost like a dessert style Starbucks concoction.
Have you considered a spoonful of sugar and a dash of half & half? It seems it would save even more.
I stopped using creamer about 20 years ago. I fill my tall drinking glass with half water and half coffee. Then chug. I just drink it black. No sugar either.
I drink it to wake me up a few times a day so don’t care about taste. 🤣
probably fresher just to make on your own but I don’t think it’d really save you money
but I’m all in for fresh eats and drinks
I went the opposite direction and dialed in my coffee brewing technique to make black coffee enjoyable.
At least you won’t have vegetable oil and unknown substances in your coffee.
Instead of the caramel sauce and sweetened condensed milk, you could just buy La Lechera Dulce de Leche. It is basically caramelized sweetened condensed milk.
That is still a lot of sugar you’re consuming in coffee though. Just half and half with as little sugar as you can tolerate would be much better for you.
