Hello! Looking to add a card to pair with my WF Autograph and unsure of which would be the best fit for me. I’ve been looking at the WF Active Cash or BCE, but open to other ideas. FYI, I don’t really use my Barclays View much anymore, it’s more so my emergency card if I have a car repair or hospital bill.
Current cards:
•WF Autograph $5,500 limit, May 2020
•Barclays View $5,800 limit, November 2018
•FICO Score: 774
•Oldest account age: 7 years 4 months
•Income: 93k
•Average monthly spend and categories:
•dining $1046
•groceries: $300
•gas: $247
•travel: NA
•other: $470
•Open to Business Cards: No
•What's the purpose of your next card?
• Something to fill the caps and maximize cash back/points
•Do you have any cards you've been looking at?
• WF Active Cash or BCE
•Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card?
• Open to either

your dining spend is pretty high so maybe look at the savor one instead of those two cards you mentioned. gives you 3% back in dining with no annual fee and 1% on everything else which could work better for your spending pattern. the wf active cash is solid too but you already getting 3% dining from autograph so might be redundant
Active Cash is a natural choice.
If you want to fill in groceries as a category, I’d read up on the AAA Daily Advantage (5% groceries, 3% wholesale clubs and pharmacies) or the Citi Custom Cash (5% groceries) first. Then the Venmo Visa (unlimited 3% groceries, wholesale clubs, superstores) or Capital One Savor (unlimited 3% groceries & entertainment). BCE only if none of those are of interest and you really really want either the Disney credit or the convenience of online retail and groceries on the same card.
Since dining is by far your largest category, you would benefit to get the Citi Custom Cash. 5% back on dining. It’s capped at $500 a month but you can just switch to the Autograph after you hit the cap.
Personally, with your spend, your groceries are covered by Barclays at 2% right now, not horrible.
But you “other spend” is likely all at 1%, so I would look for a good 2% card of your choice. So Active Cash, Fidelity, Sofi, or Citi Double are ones to take a look at.
Active Cash is better because 2% on everything is essential for an optimal cash back setup, plus it can transfer rewards to Autograph and potentially earn transferable points.
The only major category missing in this setup is groceries. I suggest using Citi Custom Cash to earn 5% and then your setup is complete.
It’s always good to have a 2% catch-all. In regards to the autograph the main hole is groceries. For a low-card setup The Amex Blue Cash everyday works pretty well. Especially if you don’t have a Bank of America customized cash rewards for online shopping
But you can also cover groceries at 5% with the PayPal debit. Or citi custom cash
