Another one is that doing any gig work and these metrics count you as employed. Which is objectively false, you’re not paying your rent doordashing. There’s roughly a quarter to a third of the American population that have participated in gig work.
Since 2022, I have consistently seen companies do layoffs in the tens of thousands, replacing workers with h1bs or shipping the jobs overseas. There hasn’t been meaningful full-time job creation in the country for years now.
