he’s 19 and asked me what card to get so i helped him pick one. now i’ve been reading more and second guessing it. they all seem similar on the surface but i don’t want him to build bad habits early because of something i overlooked. for parents who have been through this what did you actually focus on at the beginning?

my kid just got approved for a card and now im stuck wondering if there actually is a “best” credit card for building credit or if theyre all the same

For credit building specifically, there’s absolutely zero difference between cards.

    2. There’s no difference between cards when it comes to credit building. Just have him learn how to properly use and pay for it and it should be fine.

Credit building is paying off your balance every month, there is no bad habit or wrong way yo do it.

it’s less about the best card and more about keeping it simple so they don’t build bad habits, so something basic with no fee and a low limit usually works, then just focus on paying in full every time and keeping usage low

    5. They are all the same for building credit. Buy watch out for predatory lenders. Looking at you Credit One.
