TLDR-always hem and haw or ask about changes to lower cost, often companies come back with better deal.
Some people might not believe in home warranty companies, but we’ve had good service and over the years they have replaced our HVAC units, built in microwave, refrigerator, garbage disposal, and fixed our oven and dishwasher, and come out for plumbing and garage door issues. We appreciate the peace of mind.
The renewal this year was just over $1,000. We were debating not doing it. Just got a call from them as it’s a less than a month out from renewal. Glad I had the day off from work to take the call.
He first offered me $100 off. I then started asking him about cost to remove an upgrade we had… then hemmed and hawed a bit asking cost to change this or that. Next was $175 off. In the end, with NO change to current policy, Got $300 off. I’m ok with $700 for the year, as that is no increase over last year.
Win for the day!!
Just saved $300 on home warranty-yay!

Have you ever added up what you have paid for the Home Warranty vs. what they have covered? How many years have you been paying them? Not judging (you seem happy with it) just curious.
nice job, OP! always worth it to negotiate and see what they can do for you. saves a ton and keeps things rolling smoothly.
