What are the different methods/ platforms that one can use to earn income from their Bitcoin while retaining custody? Is there anything in place that facilitates this?

Sell call options on it. Pocket premium and retain custody (note, can be assigned meaning you need sell for strike, but depending how far OTM you go dictates your chances of assignment)

None, without taking on a lot of risk up to and including everything you stake.

**more yield = more risk surface.** There’s no “free interest” on BTC without some form of trust, protocol risk, or locking conditions. self-custody yield exists, but it’s still early and very risk-sensitive.

You can run your lightning node but its not risk and work free. As others wrote more yield = more risk

Run a large, good connected LN node and earn routing fees.

Talking about r/thelightningnetwork, you might be able to earn some sats to become a liquidity provider but I know very little about that, not even sure where one has to start their research at.

Tagging the LN expert u/eyeoft to guide us all here.
