How much of the US employment rate includes gig workers or self contracted workers that have very little benefits compared to traditionally employed workers?

Employed persons is everyone who has a job. The type or “quality” of the job doesn’t matter.
There are other measures like “part time for economic reasons”.

And there are “alternative work arrangements” like temp workers, contractors, self-employment, etc.
