Basically, the million calls I get when I inquire make me very unsure about who is actually best to talk to. I want to check to see that I’m getting the best rate for my home and auto.

Don’t do quotes online. Reach out to a local independent agent. They can help you shop other carriers without getting bombarded with phone calls.
Why are you getting calls when you inquire? Are you just putting your contact info willy nilly into online sites that basically just sell your contact info to as many people/companies (insurance or otherwise)? You need to do the legwork and reach out to captive agencies (Farmers/Allstate/State Farm, etc), Direct Writers (AAA, GEICO, Progressive, etc) and at least one **local** independent broker. Independent broker will likely give you the best advice since they know their market the best. Putting your contact info onto websites is just going to get you non-stop calls for the rest of your life.
