hello all! First time here, but I’ll ask the question is it worth it to become an insurance agent (us, OH). I currently work at a warehouse not terrible but not great, pay is 20hr with heavy performance pay up to 40rh at 200% so I can run a 160% but only when I’m down on the 1st floor if I’m on the 2nd floor one side I don’t even hit 100, even when I put the same effort into in as I would down stairs I only get like a 120% max so I just gave up trying on that side the other side of upstairs I can make a 120-140% if I try and as long as I haven’t been put up their for 3 weeks strait but basically my normal check is 750-900 after taxes wkly pay. I’ve been thinking about doing this change for at least a month now, and I’ve also found that you can take the courses and state tests online which would be supper perfect as that means I could do the courses and test even with us being in peak and other personal things going on, but if I do those I almost want to do all the classes/ courses and tests because I know that could help me land jobs/ make more, but is it something that’s actually worth it? it is required to have insurance by law in my state so people will always need insurance, but I’m curious as to pay I’m really only looking to make 20-27hr and anything more would be just bonus, I’ve seen a lot of independent agents on indeed and I even have a state right across the street from me that I know is looking to hire people, so with all of that sorry but. TLDR; I make 20hr I would like to make 20-27hr is this something reasonable and should I go for an actual company or do it independent? Or is their a way I could potentially do both like be hired by a company like State Farm and sell their stuff on my own time as well, like office and then if I wanted to work more do it on my own if that makes sense

Should I become an insurance agent?
