      Imagine how bad it would be if the GoM is packed with a lot of the traffic that is usually in the Persian Gulf, and a bad hurricane season comes through that prevents almost all loading actions for weeks.

      And then a tanker loses anchor/steerage (more likely to happen when the GoM is 10x as packed as usual) and hits the LOOP. Oof.

      Some hurricane seasons are nice to the GoM, some are very mean. The mean season would be catastrophic for the energy markets, because it implies a constant train of tropical systems that just wrecks the chances of the region being able to fulfill demand.

      Something like a repeat of 2005, pretty much

      Not saying its a likelihood, but its far more likely than similar things happening in the Persian Gulf with its very logistic friendly weather.
