I have two transactions coming up, one is a $1500 insurance payment, another is a $500 educational expense. I want to get a CC for my P2. Her credit age is 5 months with Discover card limit $2000 (11/25). She has one hard inquiry in 1/26. We are looking for a card with a high signup bonus and promo APR period. Our main spending would be EV charging/utilities/Walmart. Any suggestion is appreciated.
I don't want to get a card now because I got a pull last month, and also I have 5 cards in my portfolio.

with only 5 months credit history that’s pretty limiting for most good signup bonuses. maybe look at chase freedom unlimited since she already has discover relationship, but even that might be tough approval with such thin file.
would probably wait few more months to build that credit history stronger before going for premium cards with better bonuses. the promo apr might not be worth risking hard inquiry rejection at this point.
