Chase Sapphire Preffered High Limit for New Account?

Just wanted to share and see how others experienced signing up for Chase Sapphire Preferred. My friend sent a referral link for bonus rewards. So, I applied and was given a credit line of $18,600. It is waaaaay more than I anticipated and it makes me a bit nauseous. Below are.my stats at the time of application
