I'm renting a car for the 2nd time in my life via Enterprise. Last time, I paid an extra $20/day or whatever it was for full collision coverage so that if anything happened to the car, they would cover it and nothing would "ding" my personal auto insurance.
I was reading something online about some credit cards offering secondary insurance coverage and recommending declining this optional add-on from rental car companies, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around what this all means.
TL;DR — are there any cards that would offer full coverage in case of any damage to a rental vehicle, to the point where I would not need to pay for the extra coverage through the rental company?
Do any credit cards offer full collision insurance for rental cars?

What cards do you have? Maybe some already offer it
My chase sapphire preferred overs primary rental auto coverage
Plenty of them.
Venture X
Chase Sapphire Preferred (up to 60K value I believe, so don’t rent expensive shit.) CSR also has it with a higher limit.
BOA PRE
Fairwinds FCU Visa
Basically all amex cards cover it for a flat ~20$ per rental if you enroll them. Not 100% on the blue cash cards, but it seems you can.
Most visa infinite cards have it.
I’m sure I’m forgetting a few.
Also if you don’t pay for collision on any of your cars and go liability or liability+comp only, the secondary CDW effectively becomes primary. Again like the CSP, probably expect lower limits on damages from cards with secondary. If you wanted to be really cheap you could probably drop your cars coverage down to liability when renting and use a secondary card, then bump it back up after your rental, assuming you own your car outright.
CSP and CSR have primary rental car insurance. You can buy Premium car rental protection with Amex cards.
CSP CSR and all of the united airlines cards that have annual fees (Explorer, Quest, and Club) have primary rental car insurance
