I am seeking guidance regarding a vehicle fire involving my 2019 Audi A5 that occurred recently while the vehicle was parked in my residential garage. The vehicle had no prior warning lights or known issues.
The vehicle is a total loss. The fire caused significant smoke and property damage to my home, HOA common areas, etc. The full fire investigation report is still pending.
Since the incident, I have been unable to reside in my home.
I have filed claims with both my auto and homeowners insurance carriers, but there are ongoing delays related to coverage. The auto insurer is continuing its investigation and mentioned potential coverage exclusions.
Separately, Audi has conducted an origin and cause investigation and has denied any manufacturing defect or liability.
Practical general guidance and advice on how situations like this are usually evaluated and what the typical next steps.

You’ve already done what you can. The home insurance covers your home. Your car is covered under the comprehensive portion of your auto policy, so the deductible would apply. You’ll get ACV for your car. I’d be curious to learn what exclusions the adjuster is talking about.
As for the home, your home deductible applies. I hope you’re making lists of your personal property that got damaged and looking for receipts for high-ticket items.
And just to say, I’m sorry this has happened. I can’t imagine the level of stress it has caused.
