Hello everyone. Im thinking of going and living on campus while attending radiology program. Pretty much guaranteed job after. Cost would be about $50,000 for 2 year program. Make $65,000 first year out of school. Is this stupid?

    1. Would this be at a 4 year university? I’m assuming this is an associates degree program?

    2. Is there no CC near you that has this program? It’s not necessarily horrific, but it seems extremely high considering there are CCs that offer it.

    3. Maybe look into hospitals that have rad tech programs? Could really come out ahead in that situation since the hospital will cover tuition if you work for them for a set amount of time after

You don’t want to borrow more than 1 years salary as a rule of thumb, so yes this is a bad idea.

Maybe. What would be your alternative if you don’t live on campus? (Would you be living for free with your parents or would you be living alone in your car in a Wal-Mart parking lot?)

What are the total costs of each of your alternatives? (E.g. living on campus might have higher rent and food costs, but living with your parents still has costs for gas and parking if you will drive to school. Factor in *all* of your costs to compare the options fairly.)
