A lot of discussions focus on which strategy works best momentum, mean reversion, breakouts, etc.
But what’s often overlooked is that most strategies are condition-dependent.
Momentum works best in strong trends. Mean reversion works better in ranges. Breakouts thrive in expanding volatility environments.
The problem is traders often stick to one approach regardless of conditions, which leads to inconsistent results.
Adapting to the environment doesn’t mean constantly changing systems it means understanding when your current approach is more or less likely to work.
Why market conditions matter more than strategy selection
