Data Point: You still can not downgrade the 95 dollar Wells Fargo Autograph Journey to the 0 dollar Autograph.

My annual fee was coming up and really did not care for the card, I saw the data points about them not allowing you to downgrade and can confirm that is still the case.

If anything that made it even easier to close out the card because that’s completely amateur. I even told the customer service rep it was amateur. I do not bank with second class credit card issuers.
