Santander Repossession while Deployed 2022

I was deployed and Santander repossessed my car in 2022. I made the payment and they let my grandparents pickup the car next day. When I came back from deployment my car had issues so I bought a new one with hopes that Santander would just take it again. Instead I received a Check for $280. I haven’t heard from Santander since the repossession til today. No late payment phone calls or emails… just that check. I called today because ChatGPT said Santander agreed to a settlement for illegal repossession without a court order. I was transferred to 3 different departments and they ultimately tried to get me to agree to a balance charge off with 1099c and title issued to me. I didn’t accept because I heard soldiers were getting 10k and balance satisfaction. My question is how is what should I ask for I thought they just give everybody something.
