Due to the BBB, I’ll need to take out 40k in private student loans for the year of vet school 🫠 the interest rate I was offered at ascent and college ave is insane (14+%), this is with a 800+ credit score co-signer. What other options are there?

Go overseas to a country that actually cares about education? Australia has some good ones, as does the UK. It will probably be cheaper, with less costly loans. You might have to figure out how to establish residency first, but vet techs are usually in demand everywhere if you already have that.
Have you checked Juno? It’s a group that is helping health professional students to get private loans without co signers and will offer lower rate than these private loans. I am an incoming MD student and I am working with them to get lower interest rate. Also, you can try sallie Mae or Earnest or Sofi. I got 12% with sallie mae and 9% with earnest without a co-signer and below 900 credit score. Idk if ROI is lower for vet students and that’s why the interest is higher, but you should shop around
