You have to click a specific box to have your extra payments not applied toward future payments, but when you get your final payment summary there is no indication what you selected. I've resorted to saving screenshots with the date and time in case they ever try to claim anything.

If you continue paying monthly regardless of your when your posted due date is, it doesn’t matter whether you let it extend your due date.
