What's the purpose of your next card? Travel, general cashback
Do you have any cards you've been looking at? Venture X (not sure if they’re switching from MC to discover), AMEX Gold, CFP
Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card?
Both are good with me.
Hi everyone. I’ve done very preliminary research on CC that I can use for a post grad travel trip (~8 weeks of travel early 2027) and that can translate to a lifestyle of ~2 trips a year, but am unsure what to choose. My monthly spend is going to look very different 6 months from now, as well as income. Main goal is a card with maximized sign-on bonuses that I can book ~$5k flights/trip with next month that will translate nicely to the real-world postgrad life. TIA!

how often? once or twice? just get a no ftf card
once a month or more? what airline do you fly?
I’m about to graduate in May and my current set up is Amex Gold, VentureX, C1 Savor, and Discover it. Works well for me since my biggest expenses are groceries and dining. Planning on getting the Amex Plat in a couple years since I’ve been accumulating points from the Amex Gold.
I don’t mind the category spend but you do have to keep in mind the monthly credits with the Amex Gold.
