Somebody crashed into my mom last week. Police filed a report and I’m trying to contact the lady insurance cause she was at fault and it’s through geico they’re claiming she’s not even in the system or can’t find anything I’m trying to figure out what would be the case of action for her? The lady got rid of her phone number cause we tried calling with different numbers and the police are saying to go through small claims court or get an attorney? They’re the ones who got her info and have to make sure she has insurance like what? Has anybody gone through this

File under your mom’s insurance, let them deal with it.
As to the other person with or without insurance, that for the DMV and state to handle. Also, other than taking a report, police will not realy be involved or give you information about what happened to the other lady.
Unfortunately this happens often. If you have collision coverage you can file with your insurance. They will investigate her coverage and subrogate to recover their money plus your deductible. No guarantee, but a larger chance if success than trying it yourself.
Small claims is an option but serving her could be impossible, as well as actually ever collecting anything. If she doesn’t have insurance, she probably has no money
