Applied for BOA Atmos Rewards Biz card yesterday to get 85k offer, but forgot to unfreeze my credit (d’oh!). Unfroze and called in, they pulled my credit while on the line, but told me it was automatically declined due to too many recent account openings.
I’m currently at 5/12 (including switch from Bilt 1.0 to 2.0), so I asked about the 7/12 rule and mentioned I had an active BOA savings and biz checking account, but the agent said that rule doesn’t apply to this card and the current more restrictive rule has been in place for at least a year. Did not confirm what the threshold actually is.
I haven’t heard of any changes to this policy, is this new? Am I SOL?

I think the business version is hard to get if you’re a churner. I’ve heard being over 1/12 (one inquiry over last 12 months, INCLUDING business card applications) leading to denials being thrown around but not sure if true.
